An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

People in Chatham-Kent have another reason to watch the Toronto Sceptres in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL).Chatham's Jessie McPherson has been named as one of three goalies for the team. She joins Raygan Kirk and Elaine Chuli between the pipes.McPherson is coming off five straight seasons in the NCAA with the University of Vermont and Minnesota State University. She won 54 games during this time, 11 of which ended in a shutout.McPherson and the Sceptres open the season on Friday on the road against the two-time champion Minnesota Frost. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
