Chatham's McPherson earns spot on Toronto Sceptres

People in Chatham-Kent have another reason to watch the Toronto Sceptres in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL).

Chatham's Jessie McPherson has been named as one of three goalies for the team. She joins Raygan Kirk and Elaine Chuli between the pipes.

McPherson is coming off five straight seasons in the NCAA with the University of Vermont and Minnesota State University. She won 54 games during this time, 11 of which ended in a shutout.

McPherson and the Sceptres open the season on Friday on the road against the two-time champion Minnesota Frost. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
