The Chatham Maroons picked up another two wins during the second weekend of the regular season.
The team was on the road Friday in Stratford, where they doubled up the Warriors 4-2.
It was Stratford that opened the scoring in the first period, later adding a second halfway through the second period.
Eddie Hickson got the Maroons on the board a few minutes later. His second goal of the season was assisted by Parker Nyitray and Dylan Richter.
Aidan Edwards scored his first of the season late in the second period to tie the game. The lone assist on the play went to Eric Wood.
The Maroons grabbed the lead with over five minutes left in regulation when Matteo Mosca found the back of the net with his second of the year. Hickson had the only assist on the play.
Richter added an empty-netter, his second goal of the season.
Gannon Hunter made 25 saves for his third win.
The Maroons then travelled to Elmira to take on the Sugar Kings on Sunday. This time, the offence led the way to a 7-4 win.
Shortly after Elmira opened the scoring, Andrew Baker found the net for his third goal of the season. Richter and Hickson with the assists.
The second period saw the Maroons score three straight goals. Baker scored first, assisted by Nyitray and Richter; followed by Mosca, assisted by Baker and Grady Dale; with the last being scored by Nyitray, assisted by Emmett Mather and Logan McAulay.
The assists for Dale and Mather were the first points in each's Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL) careers.
Elmira added goals late in the second period and early in the third period.
Xandre Aitken extended the Maroons' lead halfway through the final period. His first of the season was scored shorthanded from Damon Stodola, who also picked up his first GOHL point.
Edwards would score late in the third period from McAulay and Aitken, before Elmira got its fourth goal.
Mason Vieau scored his first GOHL goal into an empty net, capping the scoring, with Dale and Edwards getting the assists.
Hunter made 31 saves for the win.
The Maroons' record is now 4-0-0-0
The team's next game will be on Friday, on the road against the Strathroy Rockets.
