The Pledge To End Bullying

Students, parents and organizations across London are being asked to take The Pledge To End Bullying.

The pledge is a public awareness campaign that aims to eliminate harassment and abuse in our community.

Last year, over 140,000 people in Ontario took The Pledge To End Bullying and promised to stand up to bullies in schools, on the streets, and in the workplace.

"Bullying will never be ok, cool, or accepted, but as a victim there is always a way to get help. You can reach out to a friend, family member, teacher or anyone you feel comfortable with. You are not alone and you are not the only one who goes through this," says Grade 11 Student Terryanne Henry, who shared her story at this year's launch of The Pledge To End Bullying. "A year ago I would wake up scared of my own shadow, I would never stand up to any bully and was being harrassed myself. Today, I would never walk past anyone being bullied. I would stop."

You can take The Pledge at ThePledgeToEndBullying.ca

The goal is to have everyone across the Thames Valley District School Board take the pledge before Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week starts on Monday.
