A Woodstock man wanted for sexual assault is now in custody.
In November of 2008, Hugh McKay was charged with sexual assault.
The female victim alleged McKay offered her a ride home in July of 2008. Before reaching her destination she says she fell asleep in the car. When she awoke she told police McKay had pulled over to the side of the road and he was performing sexual acts on himself and the victim. When confronted, the victim says McKay asked her to perform a sex act on him, she refused and he took her home.
Police say McKay failed to attend court and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
He then fled to British Columbia.
The 69-year-old was spotted by officers on Dundas St. in Woodstock on Monday and arrested after six years on the most wanted list.
He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
