London Lightning Supports Red Kettle Campaign

The London Lightning is helping launch the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign in a big way.

High school students will be able to buy a ticket to Thursday's game against Moncton for $5. The 3,000 seat upper bowl in Budweiser Gardens will be open to the students, with all ticket proceeds going towards the Salvation Army's Christmas fundraiser.

The goal is to raise $15,000.

"We've had record breaking attendance at our last game with 8,500 people and at our first game we had 7,200," says London Lightning Head Coach Carlos Knox. "The upper bowl was filled and it was a very exciting time."

It is estimated the Salvation Army will help 6,000 local families in need this year.

The goal for the 2014 Red Kettle Campaign is $475,000. This is the same goal as last year, which was met on Christmas Eve.
