Police Search For Poppy Donation Box Thieves

The OPP is releasing pictures of two men who stole a poppy donation box from the Simcoe Mall on Remembrance Day in hopes of identifying them.

Investigators say on November 11 between 2pm and 3pm the man took the donation box from the counter of Wrap It Up in the mall food court.

The donation box was found outside the mall with the poppies still in it, but the cash donations were gone.

"Our veterans have played such an integral role in Canadian history and society, and this act of theft is very disturbing," says Norfolk County OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk. "The OPP reviewed video surveillance and are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying two males."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
