Elgin Man Killed In Simcoe Crash

A two-vehicle crash in Simcoe has claimed the life of an Elgin County man.

Norfolk OPP say it happened Thursday morning around 11:35am. Police say a pickup truck was heading north on Norfolk St. when it ran into the back of another vehicle. The pickup then left the road and hit a hydro pole.

The driver, a 63-year-old man from Elgin County, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The man's name is not being released until after next of kin have been notified.

Police are still investigating.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
