Suspicious Male Near School In St. Marys

The OPP is investigating a suspicious man who was spotted near an elementary school in St. Marys.

Police got a call just before 11am this morning to go to Holy Name of Mary about a suspicious male near the school.

Officers were told during morning recess a man appeared to be watching students on a yard near the Grand Trunk Trail. As a school staff member walked towards the male, he immediately he left the area. The male did not make contact with students or get in close proximity to anyone.

He's described as being in his 20's, 5'10" with a medium build, brown hair with no facial hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a black coat and black sweater with a blue touque with yellow stripes.

Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate the male.

While the actions of the male near the school are not criminal in nature, the OPP would like to speak with him, to determine why he was there.
