Accused In Deadly Double Stabbing In Court

The man facing charges in connection to last month's deadly double stabbing on Adelaide St. N. will appear in court again on Thursday.

Frederick Oag, 38, appeared before a judge today via video link from the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre.  His case has been put over for on-going disclosure.

Oag faces one charge of second degree murder and one charge of aggravated assault.

He was initially charged with two counts of aggravated assault after he allegedly attacked two men with a knife in the early morning hours of November 9.

Shane Sturgess, 45, died 10 days later in hospital and one charge against Oag was upgraded to second degree murder.

He has been in custody since.
