UPDATE: Police Search For Home Invasion Suspect

Police are searching for the suspect in a violent, early morning home invasion in the city's east end.

Officers were called to Crimson Cres. around 5am this morning.

Investigators say two armed men tried to force their way into the home. The homeowner sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries in the altercation and was taken to hospital. He has since been released.

One suspect is in custody, while the other remains at-large. Officers and the canine unit are sweeping the Hamilton Rd. and Crimson Cres. area.

Police say a weapon was used, but have yet to say what that weapon was.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
