Funeral For Tom Gosnell

A long-time political powerhouse is being laid to rest today.

Friends and family members of former London Mayor Tom Gosnell will gather at the Metropolitan United Church at 2pm.

Gosnell died on Monday night at age 63 after a long battle with cancer.

He was first elected mayor in 1986 and served until 1994. After a hiatus from politics he returned to the Board of Control in 2003.

Gosnell served as deputy mayor until 2010.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
