Algoma University Closing In St. Thomas

Officials at Algoma University say courses will no longer be offered in St. Thomas come spring.

The school will continue to offer existing courses until the end of the winter term to accommodate the students currently enrolled at the St. Thomas campus.

Intake was suspended in May due to lower than anticipated interest from prospective students.

The university says it has looked at ways to enhance programming, but have been unable to get enough students to sustain the campus.

The majority of Algoma University's programs are offered at the main Sue Ste. Marie campus, but there are other campuses in Timmins and Brampton.
