Strathroy Man Accused Of EI Fraud

A Strathroy man faces charges in connection with alleged fraudulent transactions of Employment Insurance payments totalling over $300,000.

After receiving an investigation referral from Service Canada, the RCMP, in August 2014, started looking into the actions of a federal government employee. It's alleged the employee used his position and database access privileges to misappropriate government funds.

37-year-old Aaron Nicholas Ogier was arrested Wednesday on charges of fraud over $5,000, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime and use of forged documents.

A London court date of February 19 has been set.
