Three Hurt in Motel Fire

Three people are in hospital after fire ripped through the Motorcourt Motel on Dundas St.

Fire crews were called to the Dundas St. motel just before 8:30am.

Police say one man suffered burns to his feet while the two other are being treated for smoke inhalation.

District Fire Chief Gary Bridge tells Blackburn News that working smoke alarms are the reason the burn victim's injuries were not more serious.

The cause of the blaze is undetermined, but it not believed to be suspicious.

A damage estimate has not yet been released.

London police have reopened Dundas St. between Edgeworth Ave. and Clarke Rd. The stretch of road was closed during rush hour this morning.
