Woodstock Man Faces Arson Charge

A Woodstock man is facing arson charges after allegedly trying to burn down his former home.

Police say fire crews were called to a fire at 1268 Dundas St. around 11pm on December 16. Smoke was coming from the roof and the back of the home was engulfed in flames.

No one was inside the home when the fire started. Damage is estimated to be roughly $180,0000.

Kyle Foster, 26, who was a former tenant of the property faces one charge of arson causing property damage.

He is to appear in court next month.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
