Knights Make New Year Trades

The London Knights started 2015 with a couple of trades.

General Manager Basil McRae announced on January 1 that in two separate transactions, the team traded forward Michael McCarron and defenseman Dakota Mermis to the Oshawa Generals .

In exchange for the Montreal Canadiens' first round pick McCarron, the Knights received rookie forward Cliff Pu, Erie’s 2nd round selection in 2016 & Oshawa’s 3rd round selection in 2015. In 17 games with the Generals this season, Pu scored 2 goals and 1 assist.

In exchange for overage defenseman Mermis, the Knights received veteran forward Josh Sterk and Oshawa’s 2nd round selection in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. Sterk played two years with the Rangers before being traded to the Generals in 2013. In 33 games with the Generals this season, Sterk has 10 goals and 28 points.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
