Knights Beat Sting

The London Knights won a hard fought 8-6 game against the Sarnia Sting Friday night.

During the game, Sarnia was able to take a 2-1 lead in the first period, but London made a comeback in the second to make it 4-2 going into the final 20 minutes. In the third period, the Knights were first to score, but the Sting quickly caught up to tie the game 5-5 at the eight minute mark. Sarnia made one more goal before the end of the game, but London made the most of the final half of the period, scoring three more goals for the win.

Matt Rupert led the Knights with three goals, while Mitchell Marner scored two. Christian Dvorak, Zach Grzelewski and Josh Sterk each scored one.

The Knights are back on the ice on Saturday at 7:30pm to take on the Barrie Colts.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
