Two Charged in Weekend Shooting

A London woman is one of two people charged in connection to the shooting of a man on Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation last weekend.

Middlesex OPP responded to the shooting on Saturday around 8:40 am. The man was shot outside a home and suffered a minor injury. Police say it started with an argument between two men.

They now have two people in custody.

Valerie Vandendriessche, 46, of London, is charged with:

  • careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • possession of prohibited or restricted firearm/ammunition
John Michael David Kennedy, 51, of no fixed addressed is charged with:
  • assault with a weapon
  • aggravated assault
  • possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • unauthorized possession of weapon
  • careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • possession of firearm or ammunition
  • assault
  • careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
Both suspects are scheduled to appear in a London court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
