Festive RIDE Program Disappoints

The OPP are disappointed in the results of this year's Festive RIDE campaign.

Between November 24, 2014 and January 2, 2015 officers charged 593 people with impaired driving and issued 485 warn range suspensions across the province.

One person died in an alcohol-related collision on December 20.

During last year's campaign, the OPP charged 587 people with impaired driving and issued 504 suspensions. A total of three people were killed as a result of drunk driving crashes.

More than 8,000 RIDE programs were set up in Ontario over the six week period.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
