Police Cruiser Involved In Crash

A 34-year-old St. Thomas woman is facing charges after allegedly running a red light and hitting a police cruiser.

Police say around 10am on January 11, an officer was headed east on Talbot St. when he entered the intersection at First Ave.

A woman headed north on First Ave. entered the intersection on a red light and hit the police car on the passenger side.

The officer suffered minor injuries in the crash and the female was unharmed. She faces charges of failing to stop for a red light, which is a $325 fine and 3 demerit points.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
