Flu Death Toll Climbs

Another person has died from the flu in London-Middlesex, bringing the total number of flu related deaths to four this season.

Officials with the Middlesex-London Health Unit say the virus is active in the community and hospitals are seeing an elevated number of cases. However, reported flu activity is lower than the previous week.

Between January 4 and January 10 there were 21 laboratory confirmed cases of influenza, including 12 hospitalizations and one death.

Since September 1 of 2014 there have been a total of 81 confirmed cases of influenza in our area, 34 patients have been hospitalized and four have died.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
