Charges Laid In Fatal Crash On Perth Rd

London police say impaired driving and dangerous driving charges have been laid in connection with the January 18 crash that claimed the life of Jan "Johnny" Broz.

The 22-year-old died when the car he was in slammed into a tree on Perth Dr. near Windermere Rd..

Elton Sabino, 23, of London is now charged with impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, impaired driving causing bodily harm, and novice driver with blood alcohol level above zero.

Both he and another passenger in the car are still in hospital. Both are listed in fair condition.

Broz was a self-described car nut, even posting a photo on Facebook of a hoodie with the words, “Life’s too short to stay stock” on the back. He emigrated to Canada from Plzen, Czech Republic.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
