Two Die In Mt. Brydges Fire

An early morning blaze at a Mt. Brydges home has claimed the life of a boy and an elderly woman.

The two have been identified as 11-year-old Ethan Taylor and his great grandmother, 87-year-old Gwen Janes.

Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Chief Brian George tells BlackburnNews.com firefighters were called to the house around 3am this morning.

He describes it as "an extremely hot fire", and firefighters were slowed by the heat as they removed the two victims from the home. They were the only occupants inside.

Because of the fatalities, the Ontario Fire Marshall will attend the scene today to determine a cause.

Strathroy-Caradoc police are conducting a parallel investigation.
