Man Charged In Pharmacy Robbery

A London man is facing a dozen criminal charges following a crime spree in the city's north end.

Police have formally charged Marshall McClinchey, 25, of London following a string of thefts lasst week.

Investigators say McClinchey allegedly stole a running vehicle from a Pennybrook Cres. home around 9am on Friday morning. He then drove to PharmaPlus on Adelaide St. N and demanded medication. The pharmacist handed over some drugs and followed McClinchey out of the store, trying to detain him. The thief hit the pharmacist with the stolen car when trying to flee. When driving away from the scene he hit a van head-on then struck a tree. Following the crash, police say McClinchey broke into a garage where he was arrested.

He faces the following charges:

  • robbery (x2)
  • fail to remain at the scene of an accident (x2)
  • dangerous operation of a motor vehicle (x2)
  • break and enter (x2)
  • possession of property obtained by crime (x2)
  • theft of a motor vehicle
  • disguise with intent
The pharmacist was treated in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Those involved in the crash were unharmed.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
