Gubbels Pretrial Could Be Held In London

A preliminary hearing for a London man charged with murder in the deaths of his Warwick Township parents could be held in London.

27-year-old Jeremy Gubbels made another appearance by video in Sarnia court today (Wed) and was remanded in custody until next Tuesday, February 10.

An application is being made in London to move the hearing, which is held to determine if there's sufficient evidence to send the matter to trial.

Gubbels was arrested July 13, 2014 after the body of his father, 54-year-old Mario Gubbels was found in London. Earlier that night, the body of his mother, 55-year-old Susan Gubbels had been found in her home in the 5800-block of Arkona Rd.

He's charged with two counts of first degree murder.

A ban has been imposed on the publication or broadcast of information given during the court proceedings.
