Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for London and Middlesex warning of significant snowfall and freezing rain.
In what is being dubbed "active winter weather," forecasters say precipitation will turn from snow, to ice pellets, then back to snow over the weekend.
The national weather service says the area will get a few centimeters of snow Saturday, only for that participation to turn to ice pellets tonight, before turning back to heavy snow on Sunday. All in all, they expect 5-10cm of snow to fall by Sunday evening.
Huron, Perth, Elgin and Oxford should see a similar pattern.
Environment Canada says they expect driving conditions to quickly deteriorate as the snow arrives.
