Man's Death Under SIU Investigation

The province's Special Investigations Unit has taken over the probe into the death of a London man after a disturbance outside a downtown bar on the weekend.

London police arrested a 26-year-old outside the Thorny Devil nightclub on Talbot St. at about 3am Sat. Feb. 16 when he appeared to suffer medical distress. He and a 29-year-old were taken to hospital by ambulance. The older man was treated and released but the younger man was put on life support and died on Sunday evening. Because he was in police custody, the SIU is now in charge of the investigation.

Friends identify the deceased as Aaron Ferkranus and have set up a website dedicated to him: www.aaronferkranus.com

Investigators are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
