Police Bust Pair Delivering Painkillers

Two St. Thomas residents are facing drug trafficking charges after police found packaged hydromorphone inside a delivery vehicle.

Police say an officer stopped the vehicle near Elm St. and Holland Ave. Inside the car was a large quantity of hydromorphone pills in individual packages.

A 52-year-old woman and 34-year-old man both face possession for the purpose of trafficking charges.

The woman also faces three counts of breaching probation.

No names have been released.

Both are in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
