One Speed Bump Left for Food Trucks

It appears likely that at least eight food trucks will hit London streets in a pilot project this summer.

After unanimous approval yesterday, at the Community and Protective Services Committee meeting, the concept now needs to pass at full council.

The committee made several key decisions including a reduction in the licensing fee from $3,565 to $1,225. They also rejected a proposal to force operators to install GPS tracking devices and denied a request to reduce the number of trucks from eight to four.

Previous council tossed the food truck concept to the curb after lengthy debates. Full city council will have the final vote on the pilot project next week.
