Outgoing Councillors Tread on Expense Claims

A quarterly expense report from City Hall shows four city councillors who weren't re-elected, put in expense claims for vehicle tires as they were leaving office.

Stephen Orser, Sandy White, Bud Polhill and Joe Swan all submitted the claims, which fell under the "wear and tear" allowance in their $15,000 expense accounts.

The document also shows Dale Henderson, who also wasn't re-elected, submitted the highest receipts for vehicle expenses, at $4447.56.  Joni Baechler, who left office as interim Mayor, spent most of the $6,388.66 of her account on an Assistant.
