The 37-year-old Central Elgin man had to be airlifted to hospital after his snowmobile collided with a minivan on Sunday afternoon.

Police say the snowmobile was on a marked trail but didn't stop for a stop sign and drove into the path of the minivan on Hacienda Rd.

The minivan broadsided the snowmobile. The driver of the snowmobile was wearing a helmet and is in stable condition in hospital.

The driver of the minivan, a 62-year-old Aylmer man, wasn't hurt.
