Food Truck Pilot Project Passed

Food trucks have final approval from London City Hall and at least eight of them will roll out this summer in a pilot project.

In a marked departure from last year's final city council vote on rolling eateries, the project was passed in a unanimous 15-0 vote Tuesday night following a 30 minute debate.

The operators will be under strict rules to stay 100 metres from schools when classes are in session and 25 metres from restaurants and special events. A food truck license will cost $1,225.

The pilot project will undergo a review at the end of the summer with the chance that food trucks will become permanent fixtures in London.
