High Risk Sex Offender Living In Oxford

The OPP is warning residents in Oxford County that a high risk sex offender is now living near Brownsville, west of Tillsonburg.

Leonard Way, now 76, has just been released from custody after serving 19 years for a slew of sex-related charges.

Way was previously convicted of gross indecency, sexual intercourse with a female under 14, administering a noxious thing, indecent assault on a female, unlawful confinement, assault, assault causing bodily harm, possession of burglary tools, theft and possession of a prohibited weapon.

He is bound by certain conditions, which prohibit him from attending a public parks, day care centers, school grounds, playgrounds, arcades or amusement parks.

Way is also banned from being the in the same room with anyone under the age of 16 unless another adult is present.

He is described as white male, 5'9" tall, weighing 180 lbs. He has a white moustache with white receding hair and blue eyes.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
