Environment Canada is warning of freezing drizzle mixed with snow and ice pellets throughout the region.
Earlier today, the weather agency issued a freezing rain warning, but it was anticipated that the drizzle would start this evening as the temperature briefly reaches above the freezing mark.
Road conditions are likely to become poor, so police are asking motorists to adjust their driving to the conditions. Police recommend slowing down and leaving enough distance between vehicles.
Pedestrians are also being advised to be careful, as sidewalks will become slippery as well.
