Snowmobiler Charged After Crash

Although it looks like it won't be long before the season is over, police are reminding snowmobilers to drive safely after another crash in the area.

Elgin OPP say on Friday, March 6 around 1:33pm, a snowmobile collided with a car on Imperial Rd. near Van Patter Line in Malahide Township.

Police say the snowmobile, being driven on a trail by a 51-year-old London man, was crossing the road when it was hit by a car.

The man was thrown from the snowmobile and escaped with just minor injuries.

The driver of the car, a 54-year-old Aylmer woman, wasn't hurt.

Police say the snowmobile driver is now charged with Improperly Crossing a Roadway under the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act.
