Teen Airlifted From Crash Scene

A 19-year-old woman is in a London hospital with serious injuries after her van left the road, rolled and hit a hydro pole on Line 32 near Mitchell

OPP say the single vehicle crash happened around 2pm on Saturday, March 14 on Line 32, west of Road 145

Investigators say a Pontiac mini-van was going westbound on Line 32 when it veered onto the north shoulder. The driver then steered back onto the road, skidded sideways and left the road, hitting a hydro pole

The hydro pole was snapped in half as a result of the impact. The van was on its roof when live hydro wires came down.

The teen was trapped inside the van until hydro crews came to the scene and cut the power to the line. She was cut from the vehicle and airlifted to a London hospital with major injures

The investigation is on-going.
