Health Unit Reports Seven More Flu Deaths

The health unit says another seven Londoners have died as a result of influenza, bringing the total to 13 this season.

Between March 15 and 21 there were 10 lab confirmed cases of influenza A and six cases of influenza B. Among those cases, six people were hospitalized.

Officials at the Middlesex-London Health Unit say they have been notified of seven more flu-related deaths that happened throughout January and February. All of those who died had been infected with influenza.

Since flu season started on September 1, 2014 there have been 314 cases of influenza A and 19 cases of influenza B. Out of those cases, 130 people have been hospitalized and now 13 have died.

There were a total of three outbreaks reported last week. Overall, there have been 40 influenza outbreaks across Middlesex-London.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
