Masonville Target To Close Next Month

The Target in Masonville Mall is slated to close its doors on April 2.

It is one of 32 store across the country that will close that day.

London's other Target store, the one on Wonderland Rd., will remain open for the time being.

Target officials tell BlakburnNews.com employees at that location will be notified of the pending closure roughly 10 days before the doors are shut, as has been protocol with all previous closures.

The company announced in January all Canadian stores would cease operations by mid-May of 2015, only two years after opening 133 stores across the country.

More than 17,000 people will lose their jobs when all is said and done.
