Former Londoner Killed During Police Incident In Kitchener

The province's police watchdog is investigating after a former Londoner was shot and killed during an incident involving Waterloo Regional Police.

The Special Investigations Unit says the shooting happened after police responded to a call at a residence Thursday night at 77 Brybeck Crescent in Kitchener.

The SIU says 20-year old Beau Aaron Baker was shot during an "interaction'' with police.

Baker was pronounced dead in hospital and an autopsy is scheduled to be done Saturday in Hamilton.

According to Baker's Facebook page, the 20 year-old attended both Sir George Ross secondary school and Fanshawe College in London.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
