City Golf Courses Open This Week

Golfers in London will soon be taking out their clubs and hitting the links.

A recent surge in warm weather has prompted the city to get courses ready for spring.

Fanshawe, Thames Valley and River Road golf courses will be open for play starting Thursday, April 9.

"The number one concern when the snow melts are the greens, but we found out the greens are good," said Rob Vincent, Golf Pro at Fanshawe Golf Course. "The course wintered well, the greens wintered well, so all we need now is that mother nature cooperates with us and keeps the rain away and the temperatures decent."

Pro shops are now open and golf carts are will be ready later this week.

"River Road and Thames Valley courses will get their power carts this week and if the weather stays warm enough we can have those carts out this weekend." says Vincent.

Municipal courses are open seven days a week.
