Man Charged After Officers Assaulted

A 33-year-old man from the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation is facing a slew of charges after he allegedly rammed two police cruisers with his pickup truck.

Police eventually stopped the truck on Ball Park Rd., the man inside tried to run away, but was taken down and arrested.

Ernest French, 33, of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation faces three charges of flight while pursued by a peace officer, two charges of assault with a weapon, one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resisting a peace officer, failing to comply with recognizance and driving while under suspension.
