UPDATE: Man Dies In Two-Vehicle Crash

An 89-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle collision north of London.

The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police says on Saturday around 4:54pm, a green Lincoln car struck a Chevrolet van at the intersection of Adelaide Rd. and Ilderton Rd.

The 89-year-old driver of the Lincoln has been identified as Bruce Hotson of Middlesex Centre.

Hotson had to be extricated from the car by the Middlesex Centre Fire Department, and was then taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A 39-year-old female passenger of the van was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. A 38-year-old male driver was not injured. Both occupants of the van are residents of Middlesex Centre.

While officers are at the scene, Adelaide Rd. was closed between Ten Mile Rd. to Twelve Mile Rd., and Ilderton Rd. was closed from Richmond St. to Highbury Ave. All roads have since been reopened.
