Dead Coyotes Remain A Mystery

A month later, the Ministry of Natural Resources says investigators are stumped when it comes to how or why three pairs of dead coyotes turned up in the London area.

The discoveries raised concerns due to the way the animals were placed beside each other and left in very public places.

In the first case, two dead coyotes were found near a walking trail on the Western University campus in early March.

The second pair was found shortly after in Parkhill. The animals had been decapitated.

The third case was reported near Ailsa Craig on March 20.

There are unconfirmed reports a fourth pair was found in Middlesex Centre on Good Friday.

"Our officers have investigated all avenues, however at this time we do not have any further leads," a ministry spokesperson tells BlackburnNews.com.

However, the ministry says any and all tips in regards to the discoveries are still welcome.

While it is legal to hunt coyotes, the motive behind the killings and staging remains unclear.
