Arrest in St. Thomas Robbery, Stabbing

St. Thomas police have made an arrest in the botched robbery and stabbing at a variety store on Wednesday night.

Timothy Scott Smith, 30, faces several charges including aggravated assault, robbery and wearing a disguise after a man tried to rob a store on Talbot St. at about 10pm on Wednesday.

After the man demanded money, he got into a scuffle with the store's clerk who was stabbed in the chest and face. The victim is recovering in London's Victoria Hospital.

Smith will make his first court appearance later today.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
