Surveillance Footage of Robbery, Stabbing May Come

St. Thomas police say they're considering releasing surveillance footage from a botched robbery as the continue to search for the suspect.

The store's clerk was stabbed during an altercation with the would-be robber at about 10pm, in Moe's Variety Store at 808 Talbot St.. He was taken to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and then transported to London’s Victoria Hospital. His injuries are non-life threatening.

The suspect is described as a white male with a slim build, 5’9″ tall, wearing dark-coloured pants, a black hoodie and black shoes. He had a red bandanna across his face and was carrying a light-coloured pillow case.

Police also want to locate a potential witness who was in the store just prior to the incident. This person left in a white Ford Escape. Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
