Standoff On Madison Ave.

The OPP tactical team has now joined London officers on the scene of a standoff that began in a London home on Monday afternoon.

London police surrounded the house in the east end after a man believed armed with a crossbow refused to come out.

Officers were called to the home on Madison Ave. on Monday around noon when the landlord tried to evict a tenant. Police say the 46-year-old refused to leave, then barricaded himself inside.

He is known to police and is wanted for breaching his probation.

Police have sealed off the area. Armed officers can be seen on foot and the Emergency Tactical Unit has several vehicles in the area.

More to come.
