A 26-year-old London man is facing several weapon and assault charges after chasing his spouse through the city's east end with a machete.
Officers were called to a Hamilton Rd. home at 7:40 this morning for a report of a man with a machete chasing after a woman.
The woman managed to escape and the man then barricaded himself inside a home. Police tried to negotiate with the armed man, but he refused to surrender.
Officers got a warrant and went into the home, arresting him around 11am.
Since the incident is domestic in nature, the man's name will not be released.
He faces charges of assault, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous and resisting arrest.
