St. Thomas City Employee Charged With Insurance Fraud

A St. Thomas woman is charged after an investigation into multiple false claims filed to Manulife Insurance Company.

St. Thomas police say they were contacted by Manulife last November and asked to look into suspected bogus claimed filed by a City of St. Thomas employee.

Investigators say they found that several false claims were filed by the employee between June 18, 2013 and July 8, 2014.

Officers arrested Amanda Graham, 40, and charged her with one count of Fraud over $5,000 and seven counts of uttering a forged document. She was released with a future court date and conditions.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
