Founder Of Tony's Famous Italian Restaurants Dies

The founder of Tony's Famous Italian Restaurants has died.

Tony Ianni passed away at his London home on Sunday at age 80.

Ianni's first restaurant opened in 1961 on Dundas St., serving classic Italian dishes like lasagna and pizza. He then opened two more locations and a banquet hall. In August of 2011 he celebrated 50 years in business .

Visitation will be at John T. Donohue Funeral Home on Waterloo St. on Tuesday from 2-4pm then again from 7-9pm. The funeral will be at Mary Immaculate Church on Trafalgar St. the following morning at 10am.

He will then be laid to rest in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
