Just three weeks after hitting the road, owners of the Goodah Gastro Truck say finally being able to set up curbside is paying off. It is one of the city's only food trucks, despite years of debate at City Hall. Council agreed to allow for food trucks on city streets but only eight licences are up for grabs through a pilot project. City officials say it has been a slow start, but Co-owner of the Goodah Gastro Truck says it is a profitable venture. "We're trying different spots it the downtown core. It'll take a while to shake it all out because weather and other things play a factor, but right now we've got a great spot near Victoria Park and up on Pall Mall St. there's a number of offices up there that don't necessarily have lunch facilities ," Chris Bunting tells BlackburnNews.com. "Food trucks find success by kind of moving around...It allows us to expand our customer base." Before the city lifted the bylaw the Goodah Gastro Truck was bound to private property, like Western University. Bunting homes more food trucks pop up soon so they can work together.
